Smackfest is very excited to be partnering again with the World Series of Beach Volleyball (WSOBV) this coming August.

“We are doing things a little different this year,” stated Bill Sigler, Smackfest founder. “Instead of having a Smackfest event in Hermosa in September, we are moving the event to Long Beach to run their Coed 4’s event alongside the WSOBV event.”

This year, the Coed 4’s will be run alongside the FIVB event which will showcase the best players in the world. “What is really exciting about this is the WSOBV will be the first event post Olympics, so the medalists will have a chance to show off their medals. Could you imagine if one of our top ranked mens and womens teams win Gold?! This event will be nuts!!”

The event will be Smackfest style, with a competitive division and a fun division. Some other unique aspects of this event will be that the Coed 4’s will be held on Saturday (in year’s past it was Friday). Also there will be a Bud Truck/Bar on the sand … oh, did we mention YOU CAN DRINK ON THE BEACH?! We’ll have a big party at the Queen Mary that Saturday night for everyone wanting to stay overnight and attend the FIVB/WSOBV finals on Sunday.
